The theme for maharishi’s Autumn Winter 2013 is based on the modern day Prepper, a group who prepare for a future where our basic food and energy needs may not be provided by the state or private enterprise, following economic or societal collapse, a solar flare hitting the earth and wiping out electricity grids, a polar shift or anyone of a myriad of possible apocalyptic events.

maharishi’s camouflage DPM pattern this season is a photo real rendition of an English Oak forest infused with bright red edible berries, referencing the hi visibility colours included in many hunting patterns since several US states outlawed non high vis camo for hunting (as a result of so many fatal hunting accidents where hunters successfully hide from fellow hunters and get caught in the cross fire). With so much of the prey being colour blind, the orange and hi vis layer in the patterns is only visible to humans.

The new Maharishi collection is in-store now at CONCRETE.

The HANSEN AW/13 collection has been influenced by the darkness and shades of the Northern Winter in its severe contrast to the Northern light of the Summer.

Faithfully staying with the concept of ‘Sunday Bests’ of the past transformed into ‘Everyday Clothing’ of the present, HANSEN’s term ‘investment dressing’ keeps making a lot of sense.

The close attention paid to detail – the high quality of materials – their carefully chosen suppliers make the very foundation of the label. HANSEN knows how to relate to clothes, always bearing the end-consumer in mind.

Available now at CONCRETE.

For most of us, weekdays mean being held to certain dress codes, whether at school or at work. Mishka‘s Fall 2013 collection, however, is tailor-made for your time off – a new range that’s all about statement pieces and “the strong joints you keep in the closet.” From camos and animal prints to wild geometric patterns and tie-dye finishes, military jackets, flannels and sweats will have you looking like an “African prince in Brooklyn” — at least on the weekends. The collection is now available at CONCRETE.

Since his early collections, Walter has been inspired for his designs
by art, music and literature, all mixed with ethnic and nature influences.

Walter Van Beirendonck is considered to be one of the main trend-setters
in men’s fashion by the professional press.

His designs are very recognisable by either strong graphics
or innovating cuts and unexpected colour combinations .

The red thread throughout his collections is his sense of humour,
sex with an eye-wink and his concern about ‘safe sex’.
His continous statements about the fashion-world,earth,nature, contemporary life
and society are collected in prints and slogans.
Often ‘double bottomed’!
Always in a complete unconventional context.
Since 1983 carries every collection a well-defined name.

The WvB collection is available at CONCRETE.

The Quiet Life is a project from Los Angeles that is run by Andy Mueller
and Jennifer Pitt. Anthony Garcia joined the team in May 2010.

Here’s a little something about Andy:

Andy Mueller was raised in the mid-west on a healthy diet of BMX, skateboarding, music and magazines. At an early age, Andy became addicted to the art of image making and photo taking. In 1993, Andy founded OhioGirl Design, a small design/photo/film studio. In 1997, Andy started “The Quiet Life” with a few friends from within OhioGirl.

In addition to the Quiet Life, Andy works full time at Girl Skateboards as a member of the infamous “Art Dump.”At Girl, Andy’s main duty is to art direct Girl’s shoe company Lakai Limited Footwear, but he also designs skateboard deck graphics to Girl Skateboards and Chocolate Skateboards, shoots photos for Fourstar, Ruby and the other brands within Girl, and contributes elsewhere when time allows. Andy also continues to do freelance photograph, design, and special projects under the name OhioGirl, and co-runs a small “indie” music label called OhioGold Records,

Andy currently lives in Los Angeles with his wife, his son Owen and daughter Edie, a cat and bird. He also really likes to play ping-pong and recently picked up his golf clubs for the first time in 15 years….

The Quiet Life is available now at CONCRETE.

Rooted in Scandinavian craftsmanship, Soulland‘s trajectory into fashion might be in its budding days, but its ability to create comfortable formal wear with a nod to street aesthetics has earned itself plenty of applause and fans across the board. Headed by designer Silas Adler, the 2013 fall/winter collection shows the brand’s affinity for classic tailoring and characteristic design work. Well-fitted button-ups are adorned with uncluttered patterns and Old English-style font, while timeless staples — blazer, trench coat, bomber jacket — receive subtle tonal interpretations. Available now at CONCRETE.
