Nike Air Max EM “Beaches of Rio” Pack

leave a comment »

The Nike Air Max is reputed for leveraging vibrant colors to draw eyes to the iconic Max Air Bag. As often happens at Nike, a recent innovation has further opened up the possibilities of Air Max aesthetics. Introduced in running shoes, Engineered Mesh enables both tight and loose perforations to create more flexible, breathable uppers. Engineered Mesh also eliminates the need for stitched panels to hold the foot over the footbed. So instead of using color-blocked panels, the Air Max franchise can act as a blank canvas for Nike design to work its magic.

When looking for color inspiration, Nike turned to the bright clothing of the cariocas, the sand, water, exotic birds, mate carts and everything else visible at the world-renowned beaches of Brasil. The “Beaches of Rio” pack celebrates the vivid scenes along the beautiful Brasilian coast, where the very way of life is colorful.

The Nike Em Beaches of Rio Pack will be available at our Schoolstraat, Den Haag and Amsterdam store this Saturday, May 18th.

Curated by Brian Mahony, owner of GUUMON Vinyl Labs. The show “Nederland MonsterJam” is a group show including unique pieces from some of the top Kaiju makers in the business. It’s a 14 artist lineup that will feature over 40 pieces at our Amsterdam store.
Artist include GUUMON, Paul Kaiju, MUTANTVINYLHARDCORE, Max Toy, Will Long, Yamomark, Todd Robertson, BLObPUS, and many more.

If you’re not familiar with Kaiju? It’s a Japanese word meaning “strange beast,” but often translated in English as “monster”. Classically it may refer to any bizarre creature but in recent times is typically associated with a genre of tokusatsu entertainment. The typical over the top Japanese Sci-Fi stuff we all secretly love.

The show’s purpose is to present a varied display of Kaiju that gives someone who comes to the show a good perspective view of what’s being done in the genre and how much it has to offer.

Whether you’re into one-offs, customs, hand paints or collaborative pieces, this show has all that and more. Pieces can be purchased at the show, and some pieces will be available online after the show’s opening day.

The dates for Nederland MonsterJam are July 20th – July 30th.
Venue is Concrete Image Store Amsterdam, Spuistraat 250, Amsterdam.

Check below to find out how Concrete is going to get you your exclusive FREE ticket for this action-packed venue presented to you by G-Shock.

In 2009 G-Shock surprised the world with the kick-off of the ‘Shock The World Tour‘ in Tokyo, Japan and instantly conquered the hearts of many. During the ‘Shock The World Tour‘ all different aspects of the Toughness Watch are explored. Backed up by a strong mix of progressive music, art, sport and the rich history of G-Shock, the first digital watch, promises to make this an unique night out. After having successfully started out in Tokyo, cities like New York, Sydney, London, Mexico City, Hong Kong and Berlin were quick to follow.

While Rome is still recuperating from the tours visit, it’s now time for the ‘Shock The World Tour‘ to touch down in Amsterdam after which Moscow, Shanghai and Taipei will be next. The Amsterdam edition has a line-up filled with nationally and internationally recognized names such as Kraantje Pappie and Nobody Beats The Drum, while artists such as SUPEROBOTURBO and Lennard Schuurmans will be live painting their vision of the G-Shock universe. Thursday the 16th of June is expected to be a exhilarating night out in Trouw Amsterdam and will show that the Dutch too, can’t resist the toughness of G-Shock. Furthermore a preview will be given this evening of the Dutch designer collaborations to be released later this year.

Extra special about this night is the fact that the founding father of G-Shock; Kikuo Ibe will be present in Amsterdam. During the invite-only part of ‘Shock The World‘ he will give a presentation to give an insight into the unique character of G-Shock and its origins. In which will be explained how a simple rubber ball lead to the breakthrough of the G-Shock DW-500, the mother of all other G-Shocks, which laid the foundation for the famous triple 10 technology.

As one of the main places for all your exclusive G-Shock gear, Concrete is happy to announce that we are able to hook you up with free tickets for this unique event, all you need to do is check HERE and follow the instructions.

To get an impression of what’s coming up, check out the video below made on request by our friends at Ajanaku for G-Shock’s ‘Shock The World Tour‘.
