HANSEN A/W’12 COLLECTION IN-STORE NOW

HANSEN is about the way we relate to clothes. A reflexion of the sure, yet low-key mentality you often meet in Nordic countries.

’Quiet Strength’ best describes this year’s Autumn/Winter collection with pieces that are as desirable as they are comprehensible. Character-rich functionality paired with sumptuous fabrics enhance an inherent naturalness in the wearer. Nothing posh or loud, but a transformation of blue-collar dress-up cleverly turned into intellectual informality.

Rich fabrics and textures add substance to long clean silhouettes with uncompromising finishing details, one of HANSEN’s strong traits, white dress shirts- double-breasted waistcoats – structural knitwear, all great for loose layering. Soft-tailored jackets with frontal cut-away panels for movement, and perfectly fitted trousers earning our seal of approval. With dignity hard to match, HANSEN proves to be consistent and loyal to their initial concept of Nordic tradition in ongoing progress.

A ROAD LESS TRAVELLED

Portraying the spirit of this Spring/Summer 2012 collection, is the HANSEN family history, a true Nordic one- and a visit to rural Säby in Sweden, from where farmers are the theme of the HANSEN image campaign. Not just any farmers mind you; these hard working men are the designer Aase Hansens´s uncle Anders and cousin Richard and are very real indeed.

Through the lens of Norwegian photographer Bent Renè Synnevåg the deal is done, and what you get is a very clever, visual narrative of a carefully thought out collection.

Adhering to the three basic elements of HANSEN- Nordic expression, values and traditions the collection is a combination of simple lifestyle luxury and casual Sunday bests, all in pure cotton and linen, or blends of the two.

THEME: Rural Sweden

PRODUCT: Menswear, tailoring, Swedish-woven traditionals, quilted Finnish Elk hide,

fine-linen Danish knitwear, casual tuxedo shirts, double-faced Japanese cotton, signature HANSEN trousers, heavyweight satin-woven cotton, lightweight casual jacket suits, shirts in stripes and subtle plaids, old world patterns, caps and hats in luxurious fabrics, expressing the true sense of quality of the label. Horn, mother-of-pearl and metal buttons trim the garments.

COLOURS: Black and Naturals with rich shades of indigo.

HANSEN is a menswear label, wishing to reinvent and redefine the Nordic values within design, craftsmanship and materials.

HANSEN’s vision is to make use of Nordic cultural heritage and its craftsman traditions, in order to create viable clothing in noble materials with a refined finish. For the realization of a HANSEN-collection, HANSEN collaborates with local producers of knitwear, weaving, trim and embroidery. HANSEN is for the modern man, with a wish to signal simplicity, honesty and strength.

HANSEN’s collection has been created in collaboration with Norwegian weaving mills, Danish embroiderers and hand knitters. HANSEN is manufactured exclusively in Europe.

Built on a foundation of three elements; Nordic Expression, Nordic Values and Nordic Traditions – the message of HANSEN is clear:

SIMPLE, HONEST AND DEMOCRATIC EVERYDAY WEAR WITH LONGEVITY.

Norwegian Aase Helena Hansen, born in Sweden, Danish based, notorious for taking the world into her own hands, is the designer behind HANSEN – an exciting menswear brand, as direct as anything she’s offered before, and with a maturity reflecting her progression as an artist and a designer.
