In 1993, Andy founded OhioGirl Design, a small design/photo/film studio. In 1997, Andy started “The Quiet Life” with a few friends from within OhioGirl.

In addition to the Quiet Life, Andy works full time at Girl Skateboards as a member of the infamous “Art Dump.”At Girl, Andy’s main duty is to art direct Girl’s shoe company Lakai Limited Footwear, but he also designs skateboard deck graphics to Girl Skateboards and Chocolate Skateboards, shoots photos for Fourstar, Ruby and the other brands within Girl, and contributes elsewhere when time allows. Andy also continues to do freelance photograph, design, and special projects under the name OhioGirl, and co-runs a small “indie” music label called OhioGold Records,

Andy currently lives in Los Angeles with his wife, his son Owen and daughter Edie, a cat and bird. He also really likes to play ping-pong and recently picked up his golf clubs for the first time in 15 years….

THE HUNDREDS “PAPARAZZI 2” BACKPACK

with 2 comments

Below is Bobby Hundreds explaining what camera he uses, and more importantly what he uses to take his camera with him around the world, enjoy!

I often get asked what camera setup I shoot with, and the answer’s been the same for over 2 years now: The Canon 5D Mark II. But perhaps more importantly is what I store my camera in, and for the past half year or so, traveling around the world, on me everyday no matter where I go, it’s been my trusty Paparazzi 2 backpack, which is now available HERE.
I’ve also been getting asked what the difference is between the Paparazzi backpack and Paparazzi 2. Aside from the price differential, the original Paparazzi is a better fit for the casual blogging photographer, the bag comfortably fits an SLR camera and a couple lenses or so, as well as acting like a typical laptop backpack.
The Paparazzi 2 is a little steeper in price, I admit, but worth it especially if you’re a more serious shutterbug. The backpack as a whole is larger, more spacious and luxurious (word to Home Alone 2). One of the best features for the active photographer is that the camera compartment has a side-entry so that you don’t have to take off the backpack to access your rig.
This is what mine looks like below, you can arrange the body and lenses however you want with the velcro shelving, and the top compartment of the backpack has all kinds of room. And of course, as with all our backpacks, there’s a laptop compartment in the back.
We are one of the only brands in our category who regularly offers multi-purpose backpacks accommodating photographers of all skill levels. It’s important because clearly, photography is an integral component of The Hundreds aesthetic and lifestyle.
Now back to your regularly scheduled program.

IRINA WERNING | BACK TO THE FUTURE PHOTO-PROJECT

leave a comment »

Irina Werning is a talented photographer from Buenos Aires, with a love for the past. Please check out this amazing photo-project of reliving moments long gone.

I love old photos. I admit being a nosey photographer. As soon as I step into someone else’s house, I start sniffing for them. Most of us are fascinated by their retro look but to me, it’s imagining how people would feel and look like if they were to reenact them today… A few months ago, I decided to actually do this. So, with my camera, I started inviting people to go back to their future.

THE HUNDREDS IS UP TO SOMETHING…

leave a comment »

The Hundreds is up to something, just not sure yet what it is…
Our only clue are these pictures, which have been appearing on the Hundreds blog the last two weeks.

This is what we do know: it’s something to do with Scott Caan, and the 24th of february of this year.

Scott Caan is a well known actor from L.A., known from movies such as: Gone in 60 Seconds, Enemy of the State and the Ocean’s series. Son of legendary actor James Caan, it was nobody’s surprise when he started acting, what did surprise us however is the fact that Scott also has a love for photography. Check out some more of his work here, and keep a look out on this blog around the 24th for more info.
