A truly iconic running silhouette, the Gel Lyte III was first released in 1989, featuring numerous innovative features including the famous split tongue – a novel invention that eliminated the problem of having the tongue slip down the side of the shoe. With a Gel cushioned sole, 3M patches and padded tongue and collar, the Gel Lyte III was ideal for the long distance runner.

Runners can now reap the benefits of natural motion found in Nike Free and the supportive, second-skin fit of Nike Flyknit in a single shoe. The Nike Free Flyknit unites two of Nike’s most innovative and popular technologies to deliver barefoot-like flexibility and a compression fit that locks the foot in place.

The Nike Free Flyknit is designed to flex with the foot in motion. It is informed by Nike’s “Nature Amplified” design ethos — an approach fueled by scientific data and athlete insights.

“Nike Free Flyknit is the ultimate expression of natural performance principles, combining a supportive, sock-like upper and a flexible midsole and outsole that move with the body,” says Sean McDowell, Creative Director for Nike Running. “The compression fit brings the foot closer to the sole for enhanced lockdown and propulsion.”

The Nike Free Flyknit are now available at the CONCRETE store, both mens and womens sizes available.

Runners lacing up in preparation for the spring race season won’t make sacrifices. They need a shoe that fits perfectly to take on the miles, has enough structure to feel supportive, offers cushioning for amazing comfort – and sports some style on top of it all. With this inspiration, the lightweight Nike Flyknit Lunar1+ brings the virtually seamless upper using Nike Flyknit technology together with the plush, responsive cushioning of Lunarlon.

Since its launch in February 2012, Nike Flyknit technology has redefined the development and creation of footwear with its ability to be engineered to provide a more precise fit for the specific needs of the foot. Support and structure are knitted right into the Nike Flyknit upper, which helps reduce seams, weight and areas of friction and keeps the shoe lightweight. This spring the Nike Flyknit Lunar1+ provides support, flexibility and breathability with a more cushioned midsole – a great solution for everyday runners.

The Nike Flyknit Lunar1+ combines Nike Flyknit with plush, responsive Lunarlon. The resilient foam provides ultra-soft cushioning, and springy response and support. The Nike Flyknit Lunar1+ has a neutral platform that benefits a wide array of runners looking for a responsive and well-cushioned shoe. Strategically placed durable rubber inserts in the outsole deliver maximum impact protection in key areas on the heel and forefoot. The upper incorporates dynamic Nike Flywire, adaptive support that tightens and relaxes to accommodate the natural motion of the foot.

Nike Flyknit construction also eliminates the need for the multiple materials and material cuts used in the uppers of traditional sport footwear manufacturing. This revolutionary construction reduces waste by an average of 80 percent in the Nike Flyknit Lunar1+ when compared to typical Nike running footwear.

Nike Flyknit was created for performance in world-class marathon events, and many elite runners have crossed the finish line in the Nike Flyknit Racer, part of the first Nike Flyknit collection. The Nike Flyknit Lunar1+ expands the franchise to the everyday runner, offering a bright color palette to make sure runners look as great as they feel on the road. The Nike Flyknit Lunar1+ is available now at CONCRETE.

The Nike LunarGlide+ 4 Men’s Running Shoe offers the same LunarGlide ride runners love with the addition of dynamic Flywire for an adaptive, glove-like fit-and it’s lighter than its predecessor. It’s no wonder it was voted “Best Update” by Runner’s World (US, September 2012).

Strong, ultra-lightweight dynamic Flywire on the shoe’s upper is adjustable through the laces and wraps the midfoot and arch for a personalised, glove-like fit. An inner sleeve wraps around the entire foot for a plush, comfortable fit and easy on and off.

The latest LunarGlide features Dynamic Support in the midsole for stability without the added weight or stiffness of a traditional medial post. It also has a floating heel-support clip that moves with you and helps keep the back of the foot from rolling inward or outward upon landing to moderate excessive pronation. The clip wraps underfoot and tenses up as weight is applied to lock down the heel.

The Nike LunarGlide+ 4 is Nike+ ready, so you can easily track, share and compare your runs. Learn more at

So long, sunshine. As the days grow shorter during fall and winter, pounding the pavement in low light and even total darkness is a fact of life for many dedicated runners. And one of the biggest challenges of running in the dark is making sure that others—especially drivers—can see you. That’s where high-visibility clothing comes in; it can actually increase the distance from which you can be seen by as much as 400 percent.

Nike’s latest hi-vis offering is the recently introduced Nike Vapor Flash Running Jacket. It was designed to provide 360-degree visibility in low light, with a reflective, laminated face that produces stunning 400-candlepower reflectivity. Once you see it in action, you understand why it’s being called ‘the brightest jacket on the road.’

Here’s how it works: Glass spheres in the fabric reflect light directly back along the same path as the oncoming beam (toward the car and driver) rather than scattering it, making it easier for a driver to recognize a runner. For times when you don’t need as much reflectivity, the hooded, reversible Nike Vapor Flash also features a toned-down matte side. And perforations plus zip vents keep air flowing to help you stay dry and comfortable. A bright idea, indeed.
