At Akomplice, politics and social consciousness are never off limits and we got into it with the Libertas Series. We used the t-shirt to depict differing definitions of born freedoms throughout the world. In latin, Libertas means liberty and the collection shows blood diamonds being mined in front of a 20-carat billboard. Available now at CONCRETE.

The Netherlands’s new Away National Team Kit represents the inherent style and authority of Dutch football in a sophisticated new black design.

The sharp black of the new away jersey denotes both authority and a lethal approach to the game. It’s augmented with a striking orange panel from the home shirt on the right side from the shoulder to the torso.

In line with Nike’s commitment to superior athletic performance and lower environmental impact, the fabric of the new kit’s shorts is made with 100% recycled polyester, while the fabric of the shirts is made with at least 96% recycled polyester. Each kit is made using an average of 13 recycled plastic bottles.

The fabric is also up to 23% lighter than the version four years ago. Embedded with Nike Dri-FIT technology, the kits help to regulate players temperatures on the pitch by removing sweat from the body to keep them dry and cool faster than ever before.

Laser-cut ventilation on the shirt promotes localised cooling where athletes need it most to remain focused on the game.

A new double knit structure and yarns also makes this kit 20% stronger, with no compromise to fit and feel and natural cotton added for comfort.

On the inside of the neck are the words ‘New Masters’ in Dutch, a homage to the creativity and tradition of the great Dutch artists such as Rembrandt and Vermeer. New Masters also refers to the talented, vibrant group of players in the Dutch national team and the seven selected New Masters who all have the potential to write their own history.

For the launch of the Dutch national team’s new away kit, Nike has selected eight New Masters.

These inspirational Dutch figureheads are creative, resilient and authentic. Photographed by Anton Corbijn in the Dutch national team’s new away jersey, they testify their pride in and support for the Dutch national team. On Thursday, 23 February 2012, the eight photographs were unveiled in the windows of de Bijenkorf department store in Amsterdam, where the unique worlds of the New Masters were brought to life in each window.

New Masters
The selected New Masters are: Doutzen Kroes (film), Afrojack (music), Wesley Sneijder (football), Reverse (music), Nalden (digital), Natalie la Rose (song & dance), Gregory van der Wiel (football) and The Shirt itself. All eight are fine examples of Dutch DNA, masters in their own field, lovers of football and all fervent supporters of the Dutch national team.

The Shirt
The new away shirt is black, with a striking rectangular orange panel on the right shoulder. This environmentally-friendly shirt is made from 96% recycled polyester and natural cotton. The Nike Dri-FIT technology and lasercut ventilation help to regulate the temperature.

The authentic players shirt is exclusively available at CONCRETE in very limited numbers.

Nature is a thing of beauty but also of power… it gives but also takes away. The wave that brought destruction to Japan is part of an ocean that also gives life. Despite the tragedy, the sun will rise on a new day and there will be opportunity for humans to rebuild and demonstrate their amazing resilience. I hope the funds raised by this image can make a small difference to benefit Japan’s recovery.-Shepard Fairey

OBEY & Concrete have many friends, and colleagues in Japan. We hold a great deal of respect for the Japanese people and their
